Jim McCormick
James McCormick grew up in Detroit, MI, and earned his law degree from the University of Detroit Law School. Shortly after marrying, he and his wife moved to northern Michigan. Seven years and three children later, Jim took a chance and ran for a judgeship in the Traverse City area.
He was elected and served 24 years on the bench. A lifelong traveler, Jim has explored 50 countries across four continents. He is also the author of Jerusalem and the Holy Land: The First Ecumenical Pilgrim’s Guide.

Jim McCormick is a retired lawyer who served as a judge in Michigan for most of his career. After several trips to the Middle East and extensive research, he published Jerusalem and the Holy Land: The First Ecumenical Pilgrim’s Guide. He has also written a number of short stories, many inspired by his own life experiences. He and his beloved wife, Marilyn a high school English teacher raised three wonderful children together.
